Resend announces Forge, its own Mail Transfer Agent built from scratch and sending from IP blocks it owns, with no code changes for customers, faster time-to-inbox and improved deliverability figures, activated per domain with a single CNAME record.
Announcing Resend Forge
Resend started at the surface.
React Email lets you build templates the same way you build the rest of your app, in components, with code you'd actually want to maintain. We obsessed over the parts you touch every day.
Next, we focused on sending and receiving, with special attention to how email creation felt to a developer: a modern API, a beautiful dashboard that didn't fight you, a brand that showed deep care and attention to detail.
It was the right place to start. The developer experience around email had been neglected for a decade, and fixing it is most of why people came to Resend in the first place.
Today, we're moving down the stack to the foundational layer: the infrastructure. Announcing Resend Forge, our own email infrastructure (i.e., Mail Transfer Agent). It's reliable, fast, and provides best-in-class deliverability.
Innovating on the infrastructure layer
The surface can only be as good as what's underneath it.
Email runs on infrastructure most developers never see and never should have to think about. To this point in our history, we ran that infrastructure on a rented foundation.
Today, that changes.
Resend Forge sends from IP blocks we own and operate. We control the whole path, from the API you call down to the addresses your email leaves from.
Forge is invisible to you, but provides immediate impacts. Behind all of it is a network of postmasters at the major providers so we can debug directly if something goes wrong.
Here's how Sam Lambert, PlanetScale's CEO, described the improvement:
"Faster time-to-inbox, fewer retries, and better observability. That's
the kind of infrastructure we want underneath us."
— Sam Lambert, CEO of PlanetScale

A foundation for the future
We spent our first years obsessing over the surface of email. Now we're doing the same to the layer underneath. The best infrastructure is the kind you never have to think about.
