As noted in my previous report, I am currently working on the open source Rust toolchain as a Sovereign Tech Fellow. Every two months, I’m putting out a report of my open source work done in that period. This is the second installment of this series. Reducing target directory size

I already wrote in my previous report, and also earlier on this blog, about the initiative to reduce the size of the target directory by removing duplicated metadata of Rust crates, which can make it smaller in real-world projects by 5-35%, so it can be quite significant.
